Hello! I have been a teacher at Cottonwood Elementary for 22
years, teaching third grade for 21 of those years. The first year I taught sixth grade. I enjoy teaching 8-9 year olds. They are so curious about their world and
so eager to learn. Many people ask me what subject I enjoy the most. I have a difficult time deciding! I love reading and it is fun to watch
students as the world is opened to them through their books. Math is such a puzzle and so exciting to
finally understand. Seeing that light
bulb go off is wonderful. Learning
about how our world fits together makes science and social studies very
exciting. I think my favorite subject
to teach is “students.” I am a graduate of Cottonwood Elementary myself. I was in the first class to attend this
building from first grade to sixth grade.
I also attended “South Emery Junior High” (SRJH), and Emery High
School. I attended Weber State College before it was a
university. I majored in Elementary
Education with a double minor in music and geography, and I am now working
toward my Masters degree from SUU with a reading endorsement. I completed the required courses to become
a peer coach for the Emery County School District. In May 2004 I had the great honor of being
chosen the Emery County School District recipient of the Crystal Apple award
given by Emery TelCom. As for myself, I enjoy reading, crocheting, playing the
piano, and spending time with my husband, children, and grandchildren. |
